LHS Culinary Arts Students Sweep Ohio State Fair Burger Battle
Take a bite into the first-place burger battle winner at the Ohio State Fair and you'd find a beefy patty stuffed with Spam and sweet pineapple.
That's the take on a Hawaiian burger that won Lancaster High School graduates Hannah Glenn and Morgan Philbrick first prize at the ProStart Capital City Burger Battle- sponsored by the Ohio Beef Council - at the Ohio State Fair on July 30.
Glenn and Philbrick's burger took the grand prize, including $16,000 scholarships from Sullivan University, and their cohorts from the Lancaster High School Culinary Arts Program swept the rest of the competition. Thomas Anders and Rebekah Steelman's Island burger earned second, receiving $10,000 scholarships, and Jake Glenaman's West Coast burger took third place, winning a $6,000 scholarship.
